Efficient photocatalytic hydrogen evolution over hydrogenated ZnO nanorod arrays.

Hydrogenated ZnO nanorod arrays (NRAs) grown on F-doped SnO(2) (FTO) glass substrates yield a benchmark specific hydrogen production rate of 122,500 μmol h(-1) g(-1), and exhibit excellent stability and recyclability.

Harvesting solar light with crystalline carbon nitrides for efficient photocatalytic hydrogen evolution.

Described herein is the photocatalytic hydrogen evolution using crystalline carbon nitrides (CNs) obtained by supramolecular aggregation followed by ionic melt polycondensation (IMP) using melamine and 2,4,6-triaminopyrimidine as a dopant. The solid state NMR spectrum of (15)N-enriched CN confirms the triazine as a building unit. Controlling the amount and arrangements of dopants in the CN stru...

PtNi Alloy Cocatalyst Modification of Eosin Y-Sensitized g-C3N4/GO Hybrid for Efficient Visible-Light Photocatalytic Hydrogen Evolution

An economic and effective Pt-based alloy cocatalyst has attracted considerable attention due to their excellent catalytic activity and reducing Pt usage. In this study, PtNi alloy cocatalyst was successfully decorated on the g-C3N4/GO hybrid photocatalyst via a facile chemical reduction method. The Eosin Y-sensitized g-C3N4/PtNi/GO-0.5% composite photocatalyst yields about 1.54 and 1178 times h...

Shell-engineering of hollow g-C3N4 nanospheres via copolymerization for photocatalytic hydrogen evolution.

Incorporation of aromatic motifs into the nanosized shells of hollow carbon nitride nanospheres has been reported to develop functional photosynthetic structures for solar energy application. This modification results in an extended π-conjugation system, red-shift of the optical absorption, and an improved charge separation in the shell, while still retaining the unique hollow polymeric nanoarc...

Topological morphology conversion towards SnO2/SiC hollow sphere nanochains with efficient photocatalytic hydrogen evolution.

Novel SnO2/SiC hollow sphere nanochains were synthesized by topological morphology conversion of SnO2@C core-shell nanochains through a vapour-solid reaction. Evaluation of the SnO2/SiC HSNCs for the generation of hydrogen revealed that they exhibit excellent catalytic activity and durability.
